Proprietor and Waitress
Finren owns and operates the Wrong Turn Tavern and Inn. Gregarious and outgoing. Cares for his customers almost as much as his tavern. Margrette is the fiesty teenage daughter of Finren. She works as a waitress but is known to be a bit "clumsy" at times. Drinks have been spilled and serving trays accidentally dropped on patrons who weren't careful with their manners.
Barmaid
Elsbeth has been with the Wrong Turn Tavern for decades. She worked for Finren's father when he owned and operated the tavern. Friendly but doesn't take any guff from the patrons.
Bartender
Shrewd and wise bartender. Listens intently to the stories of her customers before speaking.
Power couple
She is the beautiful but elusive wife of the Burgomaster and the unofficial treasurer and actuary of Embermist Hollow. Quiet and reclusive. Considered by the villagers as royalty and is afforded the highest respect. Her noble family has stewarded the village for centuries. He is the extravagant Mayor of Embermist Hollow. Pompous and arrogant. Runs the village through the sheer force of his oversized personality. He loves being the center of attention and surrounds himself with sycophants and yes-men. Nothing in Embermist Hollow happens without his consent.
Village Constable/ Oath of the Watchers Paladin
Extremely serious elven Constable. The security of Embermist Hollow is his top and only concern. Elderly even for an elf. He has little patience and is not to be trifled with. Has recently rekindled a romance with Brynhild. He watched his beloved Bryn die at the hands of Varzathrax's Wish spell. He has become a recluse and withdrawn from his duties and friends. The Underconstable is seeing to the safety of Embermist Hollow. But for how long will Rennin shut himself away?
Herbalist, Shopkeeper, Life Domain Cleric
Bryn was killed during the Battle of the Solstice Lantern Festival while defending Embermist Hollow. She sacrificed herself to close a portal opened by the Velvet Briar Ensemble, who had been deceived by Varzathrax into believing they were opening a way home to the Feywild. Knowing that her end was near, Bryn had quietly made preparations for her death and for what would come after.
Perpetual patron / Battlemaster Fighter
A seemingly ever-present gruff customer who loves ale. Tells impressive stories about his exploits to anyone who will listen. But are these just the embellished tavern tales of an old lonely dwarf, or something more? Norrim took up his battleaxe, Second Opinion, and defended Embermist Hollow against the incursion orchestrated by the evil Varzathrax. Norrim was hit by Varzathrax's tail-whip attack and was severely injured. Norrim is coming to terms that his adventuring days are at last, behind him.
Courier / Gloomstalker Ranger
Half-elf patron. Usually sits near Norrim. Loves impressing fellow patrons with his usually useless knowledge of Faerun. But every now-and-then, something useful is imparted, if one has the patience to listen and the wisdom to discern. When not at the tavern, he's delivering mail around the village. He never seems to tire, but always appears a little sad. Klifton took up his bow and defended Embermist Hollow during its darkest time in decades. Nobly he fired arrow after arrow upon Varzathrax, but to no avail. For arrows cannot pierce an undead creature with no flesh. The loss of Bryn hit Klifton hard. He feels responsible and that he could've done more.
Village Tinkerer / Artillerist Artificer
Gnomish inventor and conspiracy theorist. Convinced that dark forces are at work in Embermist Hollow. If only anyone would listen to him. Despite being rescued from wererats by the party, he's been somewhat reticent to share any information about the village. Cotterpin wielded his homemade multi-barreled magic missile weapon, the Arcanomatic, against the scores of redcaps running amok in Embermist Hollow, felling many.
Mistress of the Thieves Guild, Mastermind Rogue
Little is known about "Lady" Tenebrae. The Guild operates in complete secrecy much to the irritation of Constable Rennin. She recently recruited Elliot and gave him the moniker 'Elliot the Inept' Tenebrae was spotted amongst her old friends defending Embermist Hollow against the redcap onslaught. Not known for altruism, surely she had her own agenda for doing so? When Varzathrax revealed himself, she was nowhere around. This did not go unnoticed by Rennin and the others. She has not been seen since.
Surreptitious bartender / Monk of the Storm.
Unusual creature not known in the prime material plane. He is rarely seen unless there is something of great significance happening. He is usually intoxicated. Has difficulty speaking in Common due to the shape of his muzzle and vocal cords. The careful observer may catch little arcs of static electricity arcing between his fingers. Tamotsu went hand-to-hand against the redcaps. Many redcaps' few seconds of unholy existence were put to an end by Tamotsu's lighting enhanced frurry of bros. He offered Ffion a poignant request.
Wizard
An easily excitable harengon wizard. Due to her fast talking and twitching she can cast twice as many spells than other wizards in the same amount of time. This makes her an outstanding magic duelist. Doesn't understand why Tamotsu started calling her Mittens, but she likes it. She left on personal mission for the Mayor a few months ago, but hasn't returned.
Bouncer
Hired at the insistence of the mayor to protect the tavern from "Riff-raff." Son of Haldric Voss.
Co-Masters of the Lamplighter Guild
Twin halflings. When trouble appears, these two always manage to be close behind. They make it their business to know your business.
Procurer of goods
He appears when you least expect and disappears when you need him most. Elliot is convinced that Skrit's a pimp. But he just has incredible fashion sense.
Assassin
A very unprepared and stupid assassin hunting big game. But he's getting better. He's been spotted in the village gym.
Iron Golem
Found lost in the woods. Being restored by Cotterpin, at some expense. Who created him and why was he left to rust in the woods?
