Episode 1 Recap
The party arrived at the Wrong Turn Tavern.  They met Finren, Norrim, and Margrette.  While the tavern was filling with patrons for lunch, Margrette went into the tavern's cellar to retrieve food.  The party heard a scream.  They rapidly descended into the cellar and found a blood trail leading to a secret door.  Finren expressed surprise about the secret door since the tavern has been in his family for generations and he was unaware of its existence.  The party was immediately beset upon by a swarm of rats of abnormal size.  After defeating the rats, they went through the door and traveled into the unknown.  Once more they were attacked by a even larger swarm of abnormally sized rats.  Managing to keep their wits about them, they eliminated the scourge and traveled deeper into the tunnels.  There they stumbled upon a wererat's lair.  A lucky early blow by the party's monk allowed the party to quickly dispatch the wererat. They located Margrette, bloodied but apparently not bitten.  Additionally they found a caged gnome by the name of Cotterpin who was nearly unconscious and emaciated.  They located a letter of unknown origin directing the recipient to maintain the agreed-upon bargain.  They observed seven strange arches/portals seemingly carved out of the rock with a small circular recess in the lintel above each arch.  There were no doors present, just solid rock.  The party thought it best to return to the tavern and recover.  The tunnel remained unexplored in its entirety.  Finren was extremely grateful to the party for rescuing his daughter and offered discounted services in the tavern.  The town constable, Rennin Kelreith arrived and informed them that Cotterpin had been missing for over a week.  The party's arrival into the village suspiciously coincides with the timing of these strange occurrences.  Rennin advised the party to stay in town while he investigates these matters.
